Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Expedition

This week so the Duke of Edinburgh students participate in their overnight expedition and I am delighted to inform you that they successfully completed their two-day expedition. They navigated a pre-designed route 15 kilometres through Epping Forest, fully kitted, self-sustaining,  determined, adaptable and ready to reach their goal.

I am very proud of how they performed working in their teams,  but also supporting each other to overcome individual challenges. There were mistakes with some groups taking the wrong route, but they realised, changed their route and successfully worked their way to the next check point. The resilience that they demonstrated and showed was outstanding especially as every time someone put a tent up or down, it rained! This is an achievement they will remember for the rest of their lives. 

I would like to thank Mrs Tompkins and her team, Mr Goldsworthy, Mrs O’Shea and Mrs Richardson, I could not have done it without them.  Well done Year 9 Bronze Duke of Edinburgh participants – keep up with your eDofE accounts, you will soon be finished and will have achieved your award.Have a great Half Term!
