Careers Events at Highams Park School – Invitation to Get Involved

We wanted to share a couple of upcoming careers events taking place next academic year at Highams Park School. We would value your support in helping to bring these to life for our students:
Year 9 Employability Day - 7th October at 8:45am – 12:20pm
We are looking for volunteers to support interactive sessions focused on key employability skills. This includes:
- Delivering sessions on what makes a strong CV, including key dos and don’ts and supporting students with improving example CVs and beginning their own.
- Guiding students on writing personal statements for both job and university applications
- Leading sessions on interview skills, including presentation, answering common questions, and demonstrating employability skills
- Sharing insights into industry expectations and real-world examples
Year 8 Green Careers Day - 5th November at 8:45am – 3:15pm
This is a full-day event focused on green careers, where students explore roles linked to sustainability and the environment. We are looking for volunteers to:
- Deliver workshops, talks, or activities linked to green career sectors (e.g. sustainability, renewable energy, environmental science, eco-business)
- Share insights into their role, career pathway, and how their industry supports environmental sustainability
- Engage students in interactive tasks or real-world challenges
If you are able to support in any capacity, we would love to hear from you.
Please contact the Careers Team at careers@highamsparkschool.co.uk or Egurger@highamsparkschool.co.uk with your name, organisation (if applicable), and which event you are interested in supporting.
