World Book Day 2026

On Thursday we celebrated World Book Day, an important day in our school calendar for sharing the joy of reading.  Activities took place at lunchtime in the Library and in the Canteen with £10 Amazon prizes up for grabs.

Many staff dressed as much loved, and sometimes macabre, characters - making stories a real feature of interest and discussions in lessons and recreation time.

All of KS3 enjoyed a Staggered Read, each class teacher of the day presenting an extract of a story which was concluded last lesson, Period 5. Students were absorbed in the stories, making predictions as each part was delivered.
