Year 10 ORBYTS Researchers
This year, four year 10 students took part in the ORBYTS research program running from January to June, where they worked with a PhD student at UCL's Mullard Space Science Laboratory, learning to train an AI neural network to identify exoplanets (planets outside of our solar system) from light transit data (changes in brightness of light detected from a distant star).
Big well done to Qais, Arisha, and Maria who presented their findings and poster at the conference held by UCL Astrophysics department (in the lecture hall featured in the film “Inception”).
