Year 12 Geography trip to Somerset

This was our third trip to Somerset and we were really happy to be going back to Nettlecombe Court to help year 12s get some excellent fieldwork experience for their NEA.

We started in the woods, measuring and hugging (!) trees to find out their carbon content as soon as we arrived.  That evening, after an hour of hard work in the classroom, dinner and a game or two of rounders, we stayed in the 15th century abbey.  Here the walls were so thick I couldn’t hear year 12 being very loud at 2am – unfortunately, Ms Shah could!
